Some people have all the weather, it’s summer in the UK and we have rain again, but it didn’t stop me from doing my ‘thing’ and going for a swim.
I love to take time out and have the freedom to plan my day and more importantly who I work with. Not everyone is so lucky.
It’s like becoming a parent thinking you’ll have more freedom and time to do your own thing, ‘when the baby sleeps’, squeeze in a bit of work, and be back at your desk 3 weeks after giving birth. HaHa! Dream on…..
I’m aamazed at how new mums recover so quickly, lose their baby weight and have skin that looks so fresh, not sluggish after being woken throughout the night?! If only they looked and felt the same 6,12, 24 months later.
When everything is new and exciting you feel invincible, life feels so perfect. Having a new baby is like running a business, full of surprises. It’s often nerve racking when you find out your ‘natural instincts don’t lead to success, tears flow from frustration and exhaustion.
Both take lots of effort in the early days and require you to learn and develop new skills. Sometimes you think you’re doing ok, then something hits you. You STOP and ponder. Am I a failure, what’s wrong with me? Why can everyone else get things right?
When you look around it makes you want to hide away or have someone to tell you what to do. We then judge ourselves, I’m intelligent, I’ve read books, I’ve been on trainings, and ‘should’ be able to figure things out alone.
We get so far and sit, wait, hope for the best. It’s exhausting and takes us further from our dreams.
Having a coach is like turning on a light bulb, putting you on the motorway, saying jump in the drivers seat, now you know where you’re going, follow the map and enjoy the journey. And if you have and second thoughts or hit a roadblock along the way, message me and I’ll get you safely back on track.
Doing it alone is like arriving in a foreign country where you see signs but can’t read or understand them, it’s potluck whether you get to your destination or not or even reach it.
We can falter, stay confused or use delay tactics. I know I’ve put things off. It simply doesn’t change anything however much we convince ourselves, like if I try one more thing, read another book on, ask another friend, and that’s a complete recipe for disaster unless they are an expert and succeeded in what you’re trying to do.
Coaches are not just for holidays, they are people good at seeing more in you than you see yourself, they give you the map and best guidance to take you to your ‘happy place’ without all the trial and error.
Want to explore what that could look like for you in August? I would love to help you get things sorted.
